Trust Inns outsources contractor assessment to Altius

Posted by Altius on Aug 28, 2012 11:47:49 AM

Trust Inns has appointed Altius Vendor Assessment to manage contractor assessment across its national estate of pubs.

Trust Inns currently owns nearly 500 public houses across the country that vary in style, size, product offering and customer type. The range consists of traditional local pubs, eating pubs, city centre bars, gastro pubs, sports bars and student pubs too.

Lyn Perry, Estates Director for Trust Inns, said: "The decision to outsource contractor assessment will save time and resources, while providing a best practice compliance process that limits risk and liability.

She continued, "Since Altius has a number of clients in the licensed trade, many of our contractors are already Altius Assured, and for those who aren't, there's an opportunity for them to win new work from within the Altius network. The online service will give us better visibility of our supply chain and enable us to identify new suppliers where we have gaps in provision."

Contractor assessment system

The Altius online supplier accreditation and management system takes an evidence-based approach to checking supplier competencies – from health and safety compliance through to financial health, environmental performance, customer service and corporate social responsibility.

The service is free to clients and main contractors seeking verified suppliers, and there's a small annual fee for vendors. Altius are accredited by Safety Schemes in Procurement (SSIP), providing its assured vendors with the widest possible recognition of their status under mutual recognition arrangements.

Altius manages contractor assessment for companies such as: Airbus; Morrison's; Selfridges,; General Healthcare Group; SGP Property and Facilities Management; Punch Taverns; Wolseley; Arcadia Group and Superdrug.

Gary Plant, Managing Director of Altius Vendor Assessment, said: “We're delighted to work with Trust Inns to help them improve management of their supply chain and provide them with confidence that all contractors undertaking work on their premises have met stringent compliance and commercial checks.”
