Altius is shortlisted for 2014 Technology in FM Awards

Supply chain compliance specialist Altius has been shortlisted for the 2014 Technology in FM Awards in the commercial category.

The annual awards recognise leaders in the facilities management sector that are driving forward improvements in business processes and performance by the use of new technologies, particularly using the internet.

Altius is a digital business specialising in supply chain compliance software and management for a diverse FM environment.

In 2007 the team developed the Altius Vendor Assessment system - a flexible, cloud-based compliance management service used by SGP Property & Facilities Management Limited, Facilities Services Group (FSG) and MML. The system has also been adopted by other companies, such as Morrisons, Airbus, Selfridges, Boots, Airbus, Debenhams and Arcadia Group, to assess and accredit contractors, particularly those operating in high risk environments.

The system is designed to help FM providers reduce risk and liability, cut costs and save time. It can also manage compliance on many other parameters - from health and safety to bribery and corruption policies, CSR, quality, customer service, employment and environmental law, and information security

Gary Plant, Managing Director of Altius, said: "We are delighted to be one of only three technology businesses shortlisted for the commercial award category. Our software enables users to focus on supply chain development rather than being bogged down in managing compliance. It eliminates the need for manual processes and juggling of spreadsheets - releasing valuable resources so that staff can focus on development issues and adding value to the business."

Lead judge David Emanuel said: “We had a record number of organisations express an interest in entering the 2014 Technology in FM Awards. The entries have not only came from all walks of life in FM, but this year we also had several from the continent and even further afield - which reflects how FM is becoming more and more 'sans frontieres'."

Judging will be completed during January, with Altius going through to the 2014 Technology in FM Awards Final at the Workplace Futures conference on Tuesday 11 February.
